New Website, Renewed Passion: How We’re Celebrating Our 2nd Anniversary

When Integrity Counseling Group launched in January 2019, we had no idea what was in store for us. We certainly couldn’t predict that a global pandemic would shift all of our therapy sessions to telehealth, or that we would need to hire 4 new employees so soon.

But here we are, coming up on our second anniversary, poised to help more clients across California than ever before.

As I think about taking Integrity Counseling Group out of its infancy and into maturity, one of my goals is to better communicate who we are and who we serve. When we started out, all I had was a logo and a DIY website that lacked a clear focus.

Two years in, I knew I needed to clarify our vision, starting with a new website that would speak to the heart of potential clients and those who trust us with referrals. Today, we’re excited to share that website with you, along with a behind-the-scenes look at what went into it.

Finding a Website Designer

The first task in the rebrand was to find a website designer who could take our tagline, “Restoring Relationships,” and convey it visually. I was thrilled to stumble across Christina Paul at Zeoni Creations, who used to be a therapist herself and now specializes in “brand therapy.”

Christina lives in Hong Kong, but her friendly face on Zoom and keen insight instantly shortened the distance between us. It felt like we were in the same room during our strategy sessions, having a deep conversation about the vision for my group practice.

Doing the Heartwork

If you’ve ever tried to write the content for your own business, you know how hard it is to step away from the details and convey the big picture in simple, compelling terms.

That’s where Christina excels.

Christina gave me about 5 hours of journaling work to complete over several weeks. The questions ranged from “Of all the things you could do, why did you choose this?” to “If you were to tattoo some words on your body, what would they be?

These questions helped me get to the heart of what I love about being a therapist and building a group practice. Specifically, I realized that I’m passionate about taking the Gospel from being something we simply hear about on Sunday mornings to something that is experienced, both through our own personal growth and in our restored relationships.

Capturing Our Passion

With this new focus on Christian counseling in mind, we decided to produce a series of videos that we could share on the new website and across social media. It’s one thing to read about a potential therapist; it’s another thing entirely to capture her passion in a video.

Kelsey and Robert Lee of Creative Studios LA managed a two-day (COVID-safe) shoot in our San Marcos office. In addition to filming each employee individually, we shot a brand anthem video that captured the vision of the practice as a whole.

While our practice has always focused on trauma and sex addiction, we realized that these specialities only have meaning for us when taken in context of our Christian faith. The brand anthem video captures that aspect of our practice more vividly than static words on a webpage.

Designing the Website

Equipped with compelling videos and an incarnate vision, we started the technical process of designing the website and rewriting the content.

We replaced the text-heavy web pages with more digestible blocks of text. We also used fresh images to convey the promise of peaceful, loving relationships, whether that’s with your partner, your emotions, or your past.

Hopefully, within minutes of landing on our new website, you’ll breathe a sigh of relief and think, “Finally, someone gets me.” And perhaps more importantly, you’ll feel hope that healing is just around the corner.

Launching the New Face of Integrity Counseling Group

Now here we are, launching our new website on the eve of our second anniversary!

We hope that our love and attention to detail comes through on every page. We also hope that you leave with a clearer understanding of Integrity Counseling Group and how we fit into your life, whether you’re a potential client, pastor, treatment center, or fellow therapist.

As I write, we just hired our eighth therapist, an associate who will be added to the website soon. It’s hard to believe that this is still just the beginning for us at Integrity Counseling Group, and that in the next two years we will likely experience even more growth under the blessing of God.

So please, take a look around. Watch the videos. Follow us on social media. And if you do need a therapist, whether it’s for yourself or someone under your care, please get in touch with our intake specialist, Katheryne.

At the end of the day, we do what we do because we care about YOU and your freedom to live out the Gospel in all you do.
